The LM5177DCPR is a four-switch buck/boost controller. The device provides a stable output voltage whether the input voltage is above, equal to, or below the regulated output voltage. In power safe mode, the device has low quiescent current for high efficiency at low output load conditions. The LM5177 operates at a fixed switching frequency that can be set via the RT or SYNC pin. The switching frequency remains constant during buck, boost, and buck/boost operation. An integrated optional average current monitor helps monitor and limit the input and output currents of the LM5177. This feature also supports the use of constant-current (CC) and constant-voltage (CV) modes for charging backup power components such as batteries or capacitors.
