The MagAlpha™ MA782GGU angle sensor detects the absolute angular position of permanent magnets, such as right-angle magnetised cylinders on a rotating axis. Timing is controlled by an on-chip clock or external controller, and the marker detects a definable amount of angular change.The MA782 has power cycling capability, making it ideal for applications requiring low average power.

The MagAlpha MA782GGU angle sensor supports a variety of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations, both end-of-axis and off-axis (side-axis mounted.) The MA782 features magnetic field strength detection with configurable thresholds for sensing the magnet's position relative to the sensor for specific functions (e.g., sensing axial movement or diagnostics). On-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) stores configuration parameters including reference zero angle position, power cycle parameters, filter windows that affect output resolution, and magnetic field detection thresholds.
