The MagAlpha™ MA780GQ low-power angle sensor is used to detect the absolute angular position of permanent magnets. For example, a diameter magnetised cylinder on a rotating shaft. The sensor has power cycling capability for applications requiring low average power. Timing can be controlled by an on-chip clock or an external controller. Flags can be used to detect definable amounts of angular change.The MA780 supports a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations. Both end-of-axis and off-axis (side-axis mounted) configurations are supported. On-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) stores configuration parameters including reference zero angle position, power cycle parameters, and filter windows that affect output resolution.

The Monolithic Power System (MPS) MagAlpha MA780GQ low-power angle sensor is available in a 3mm x 3mm QFN-16 package.
