Product Description

The A4918KEVSR-1A-5-T is an N-channel power MOSFET driver that controls MOSFETs connected in a three-phase bridge setup, specifically designed for automotive applications using high-power inductive loads such as BLDC motors. A unique charge pump regulator provides the MOSFET gate driver for battery voltages as low as 7V and allows the A4918 to operate when the gate driver voltage drops to 4.5V. The gate drive voltage and strength can be programmed to help reduce EMC issues. The bootstrap capacitor is able to provide the battery supply voltage required by the N-channel MOSFET with an additional on-battery charge pump to ensure that the bootstrap capacitor remains charged while it remains on. The device provides full control of all six power MOSFETs in the three-phase bridge, allowing the motor to be driven by blocking phase change or sinusoidal excitation.


Integrated crossover control with optional programmable inductorless time protects the power MOSFETs from breakdown. Integrated diagnostics indicate multiple internal faults, system faults, and power bridging faults, and can be configured to protect the power MOSFETs in most short-circuit situations For safety-critical systems, integrated diagnostic operations can be verified under the control of the serial interface. The serial interface is used to change programmable settings and read back detailed diagnostic information.
