The RTS5424 is an advanced USB3.2 Gen2x1 hub controller that can be used as both a 2-port USB3.2 hub and a 2-port USB2.0 hub. It supports the USB3.2 Generation 2 and USB2.0 specifications, with full backward support for the USB3.2 Generation 1 (USB3.0), USB1.1, and USB1.0 specifications. Based on the MCU architecture, the RTS5424 can easily update the firmware to accommodate future specification updates using ISP tools, or provide simple feature customization.

The RTS5424 features RT smart charger functionality, supports most popular charging solutions, and supports BC1.2. In addition, the Apple and Samsung charger ports are simulated on each port via the RTS5424's automatic detection switch mechanism.

The functionality and Settings of the RTS5424 can also be configured via the SMBus interface or internal eFuse.

The RTS5424 has various interfaces to communicate with other components such as GPIO, I2C, and SMBus.
