The RTS5412E is an advanced USB3.2 Gen1 2-port hub controller that integrates USB3.2 and USB2.0 transceivers, MCU, SIE, voltage regulator and charger circuitry into a single chip. The RTS5412E fully supports the USB2.0 and USB1.1 specifications backwards and operates in ultra-fast USB, high speed, full speed, and low speed modes.

The RTS5412E provides battery charging for each downstream port. In addition to supporting the USB battery charging specification Rev1.2, the RTS5412E also provides charging capabilities for a variety of portable devices. Not only can the downstream port be used as a charger, but the upstream port of the RTS5412E also supports two special features of the BC1.2 specification. The first charger feature on the upstream port of the RTS5412E is called "ACA-Dock" mode. When a device that supports the ACA-Dock functionality of the BC1.2 specification is connected to ACA-Dock, it acts as a host for various USB peripherals such as hubs, keyboards, mice, printers, etc., while the device receives charging.
