The LT3089IR's accurate 50μA reference current source allows the output voltage to be set at any level between 0V and 34.5V using a single resistor. The current reference architecture allows load regulation independent of output voltage, and the LT3089IR can be stabilised with or without input and output capacitors.

An output current monitor (IOUT/5000) and on-chip junction temperature output (1μA/°C) provide system monitoring and debugging capabilities. In addition, a single resistor can be used to set current limits.

Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery and reverse current protection as well as current limit and thermal limit.
