The TPS92602BQPWPRQ1 device is a single and dual channel high side current LED driver. With full protection and diagnostics, this series of devices is specifically and ideally suited for automotive headlamps. At the bottom of each individual driver is the peak current mode boost controller. Each controller consists of two separate feedback loops, a current feedback loop with a high-side current sense tap and a voltage feedback loop with an external resistor divider network. This controller transmits a constant output voltage or a constant output current. The connected load determines whether the device regulates a constant output current (if the circuit reaches the current set-point before the voltage set-point) or a constant output voltage (if the circuit reaches the voltage set-point is reached first), e.g. under open circuit load conditions). The output voltage can be regulated by the circuit if the circuit reaches the voltage set-point first (if the voltage set-point is reached first), e.g. under open load conditions.

- Output voltage sensing, internal voltage reference: 2.2V ±5%
- Integrated low-side NMOS-FET driver: 0.7A peak gate drive current typical
- Frequency synchronisation
- Supports pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming and analogue dimming
- Diagnostics:
- High-side current (LED current) available as analogue output
- Open LED and short to ground detection
- Short-circuit output protection
- Internal undervoltage and overvoltage blocking
