The KP464EXTMA1 is a small barometric pressure sensor IC based on the capacitive principle. It uses BiCMOS technology and surface micromachining through monolithic integrated signal conditioning circuitry. The sensor features high accuracy, high sensitivity and high reliability for advanced automotive applications as well as industrial and consumer applications.

The sensor converts the physical pressure into a 10-, 12- or 14-bit digital value and sends the information via the SPI interface. In addition, a temperature sensor is integrated on the chip. Depending on the received SPI commands, 10-, 12- or 14-bit temperature information is transmitted via the SPI interface. The device has a special power-down mode that allows the user to even reduce the power consumption of the device. The integrated diagnostic mode offers exceptional reliability and allows testing of the sensor unit and the signal path. This diagnostic is triggered by an SPI command. Our sensors are mainly used for measuring barometric pressure, but can also be used in other applications.
