The ACPL-K308U-500E photovoltaic driver is designed to drive a high-voltage MOSFET consisting of an AlGaAs infrared light emitting diode (LED) input stage optically coupled to an output detector circuit. The detector consists of a high-speed photodiode array and a shutdown circuit. The photodriver is switched on (contact closure). It turns off (contacts open) when the input voltage is 0.8V or less. It is available in a stretched SO-8 package with a minimum form factor of 8 mm (gap). It is fast opening and closing to prevent inrush current, insulation resistance measurement, and leakage current detection.
