Automotive high-speed high-precision digital ambient light sensor (ALS)

Product Description

The OPT4001DNPRQ1 is an optical digital sensor (single-chip illuminance meter) for measuring the intensity of visible light. In order to accurately measure light intensity, a filter has been specifically designed on the device to closely match the photosensitive response of the human eye and to filter out the near infrared component of common light sources.The output of the OPT4001DNPRQ1 is semi-logarithmic with 9 binary logarithmic full scale optical ranges, with a highly linear response within each range, and can measure over a range of 400 µlux to 107 klux. This capability gives the photosensor a 28-bit effective dynamic range. Built-in auto-range selection logic dynamically adjusts the device gain setting to the light level, providing optimum resolution under all conditions without the need for user input.
