The ATMEGA64RFR2-ZUR's AVR core combines a rich instruction set with 32 general-purpose operating registers. 32 registers are directly connected to the Algorithmic Logic Unit (ALU). Two independent registers can be accessed by executing one instruction in one clock cycle. The resulting architectural code is very efficient, while throughput is up to 10 times faster than traditional CISC microcontrollers. The system includes internal voltage regulation as well as advanced power management. Extended battery life is possible due to low leakage current.
