MWC 2023 (Mobile World Congress) was held in Barcelona, Spain, from February 27 to March 2. ZTE held a new FWA (Fixed Wirelessed Access) launch event on the first day, officially unveiling the fifth generation of 5G FWA, as well as the MC888 PRO GIS version.

ZTE said that the newly launched new generation 5G FWA flagship product, ZTE 5G FWA Gen 5, supports the latest 3GPP R17 standard, supports Wi-Fi 7 tri-band 6GHz / 5GHz / 2.4GHz high and low speed network devices layered access, Wi-Fi peak rate up to 21Gbps, with 10 Gigabit network port, higher bandwidth.

According to the introduction, ZTE 5G FWA Gen 5 adopts the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology standard, supporting 320MHz channel bandwidth, while updating ZTE's heat dissipation technology to 5.0. It also adopts the fifth generation of smart antenna technology, with a 20% increase in antenna gain, and can automatically target the best signal through AI technology to achieve high-speed transmission.

In terms of signal coverage, ZTE claims that the ZTE 5G FWA Gen 5 signal amplification technology can effectively increase signal transmission power and enhance signal sensitivity, and will also support the Matter protocol in the future, allowing access to a variety of mainstream IOT standards.

ZTE officials have learned that users can also use remote management to complete one-touch disconnection, device speed limit, domain access control, network diagnosis, Wi-Fi optimization, device reboot, software upgrade and other functional operations.

In addition to ZTE 5G FWA Gen 5, ZTE is also launching a new commercial 5G FWA product, MC888 PRO GIS Edition, at MWC2023. The new version is made from environmentally friendly and renewable materials, from the entire machine to the packaging and printing. The product has multiple built-in energy-saving modes, reducing power consumption by 10%.
