February 18 news, China Construction Group announced that the China Construction Sixth Bureau consortium recently won the bid for the EPC project of New Energy Vehicle Intelligent Industrial Park in Feixi, Anhui Province, with a winning bid of about 1.544 billion yuan.

According to the report, the project is a key project in Hefei City and will be used for Huawei and JAC Group to jointly develop a new generation of high-end intelligent electric vehicles in Hefei and help build a 100 billion scale new energy vehicle full chain industry cluster in Feixi County after completion. This means that the cooperation between JAC and Huawei in building cars is basically settled, or at least the industrial park where the two sides will cooperate in building cars is already being promoted.

Although the two sides have never publicly acknowledged it, the Hefei Daily has previously reported on the progress. In January this year, Hefei city leaders and Huawei's managing director held in-depth discussions on jointly promoting the progress of Huawei Terminal's cooperation project with Jianghuai Automobile and Feixi County.

Officials said the project is located in the JAC Xingang Industrial Park in the southern part of Xingang, Feixi County, with a total construction area of about 510,000 square metres, and the main construction content includes a combined punching and welding plant, a painting workshop, a final assembly workshop, office space, a restaurant and related public auxiliary facilities.

It was previously reported that Huawei and JAC would jointly develop a new generation of high-end intelligent electric vehicle platform technology in Hefei based on Huawei's capabilities in the field of intelligent vehicle components.

As it stands now, the cooperation model between JAC and Huawei is in line with that of Ceres, with Huawei being deeply involved in areas such as the definition of new products, the selection of core components, production and marketing and service systems. The new car will also be sold in Huawei's terminal shops, as will the AITO brand, and is expected to be available in the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2023 at the earliest.
