LG Uplus announced on November 13 that it will offer connected car services for new vehicles launched by the Hyundai Motor Group, including Genesis, Hyundai and Kia, starting from January 2023, the company said on November 14.

Hyundai Motor Group is said to have already established partnerships with three major mobile operators, LG Uplus, SK Telecom and KT. In addition, LG Uplus will also provide connected car services for all models of Kia Motors and Hyundai Motor Group's luxury car brand Genesis.


The mobile operator has been providing wireless communication lines for Hyundai Motor Group since 2003 and for some of Kia's models from 2019.


LG Uplus announced that it has established a dual communications infrastructure designed specifically for the Hyundai Kia Motors Group to ensure stable communications 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As a result, it has established a dedicated communications infrastructure so that all drivers connected to Hyundai Kia Motors Group car service vehicles will have access to a large amount of data from 2023 onwards, and has completed technical preparations such as the allocation of dedicated network resources and traffic management for streaming services.
