Overview:

The Renesas Electronics ISL9241IRTZ Buck-Boost configurable battery charger supports narrow-voltage direct charging (NVDC) and mixed-power buck-Boost (HPBB/ bypass) charging. The battery charger can be switched between various modes with firmware control. The ISL9241 battery charger also supports bypass mode via the controller's firmware, allowing the adapter to power the system directly. These chargers provide charging, system bus adjustment and protection features via NFET alone and are suitable for tablet, ultrabooks and laptop platforms.

The ISL9241 charger draws input power from a variety of DC power sources, including traditional AC/DC charger adapters, USB Type-C power ports, and travel adapters. These devices can safely charge a battery pack with up to four lithium-ion batteries.
