The chip features a 456-MHz C674x VLIW (Very Long instruction word) DSP core with a high degree of parallel processing capability. It has a wealth of built-in peripheral interfaces, such as the Enhanced Direct Memory Access Controller (EDMA3), which provides 2 transmission controllers and 32 independent DMA channels to optimize data transfer efficiency. In addition, there are eight fast DMA channels, programmable transfer burst sizes, and shared RAM from 8K-Byte to 128K-Byte (unique to the C6747 core).


The core features of the TMS320C6747 include:

C674x VLIW DSP Core: This core can run at high frequencies, provide powerful computing performance, support multiple operations in parallel, and improve overall processing efficiency.

Memory system: The chip provides two external memory interfaces that support a non-aligned loading storage architecture, ensuring flexibility in data processing. The C6747 model also comes with an 8K-Byte to 128K-Byte RAM shared memory for data storage and processing.

Advanced interfaces: including the Enhanced Direct Memory Access Controller (EDMA3), its dual transmission controller and a large number of DMA channels can achieve efficient data transfer, reduce CPU intervention, and improve system efficiency.

Peripheral module: has six ALU (arithmetic logic unit), support 32/40 bit operation, to meet different computing needs. At the same time, the chip has two serial peripheral interfaces (SPIs), three configurable 16550 type UART, and an LCD controller in the C6747 model for easy connection to display devices. In addition, there is an MMC/SD card interface for multimedia applications.

Floating-point processing capability: TMS320C6747 supports 32-bit integer, single precision (IEEE 754 single-precision floating point), double precision (IEEE 754 double-precision floating point) operations, ensuring the accuracy and speed of floating-point operations.
