The TI MSP430F67621A multiphase Metering SoC is a powerful and highly integrated solution for toll meters that enables accurate metering with few external components and low system costs. The MSP430F676x1A uses a low-power MSP430™CPU and 32-bit multiplier to perform all energy calculations, enabling metering functions in a variety of applications such as rate management and communication with AMR or AMI modules.


Features

• Phase current accuracy < 0.5% over a dynamic range of more than 2000:1

• Meets or exceeds American National Standards Institute (ANSI) C12.20 and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 63053 standards

• Supports a wide range of sensors such as current transformers, compass coils or diverters

• Power measurement for up to 3 phases

• Four-quadrant measurement per phase or cumulative phase

• Accurate phase Angle measurement

• Digital phase correction for current transformers

• Use a single calibrated line frequency range of 40Hz to 70Hz

• Flexible power options that support automatic switching

• During a mains AC power failure, the display runs at very low power consumption: 3µA at LMP3

• The Real Time Clock (RTC) module is powered by a dedicated power supply (AUXVCC3) and provides integrated offset voltage and temperature calibration features

• Multiple communication interfaces for smart instrumentation

• High performance 25MHz CPU with 32-bit multiplexer

• Up to 128KB of flash memory for single cycle execution

• Up to 8KB of RAM supporting single-cycle access

• Up to 3 independent 24-bit sigma-δ analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) supporting differential input and variable gain

• System ADC: 10-bit, 200ksps, 6 channels as well as temperature sensor and power measurement

• Wide input voltage range: 1.8V to 3.6V

• Ultra-low power consumption during energy measurement

- 3.0mW (3.0V) at 10MHz operation

• Multiple low power modes

- Standby mode (LPM3) : 2.5µA at 3V, wake up within 3µs (typical value)

- RTC mode (LPM3.5) : 1.24µA at 3V (typical value)

- Off mode (LPM4.5) : 0.78µA at 3V (typical)

• LCD driver with up to 320 contrast controls

• Password protected RTC with crystal offset calibration and temperature compensation

• 4 communication ports

- It can be configured between four UART, three SPI, and one I2C interface

• 4 16-bit timers, each with 9 capture/compare registers

• 100-pin LQFP (PZ) package with 72 I/O pins

• 80-pin LQFP (PN) package with 52 I/O pins

• Industrial temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
