The PIC18F K42 series microcontrollers combine a number of kernel independent peripherals (CIPs), high-resolution simulation, on-chip direct memory access (DMA), and vector interrupts to speed up processing. These DMA controllers enable data transfer between memory space and peripherals without relying on the CPU, improving system performance and reducing power consumption. When interrupts are needed, vector interrupts provide faster response times and have fixed latency, which reduces software overhead. Simplify code development with user-friendly MPLAB code configurator. The PIC18F K42 series is ideal for use in a variety of applications and markets, including touch sensing, automotive, industrial control, Internet of Things (IoT), medical and white goods.


The PIC18F K42 series has a large total memory, up to 128KB of flash and 8KB of RAM, respectively. CIP simplifies the implementation of common system functions such as sensor interface, signal generation, power conversion, motor control, safety management, and system communication. The device features a 12-bit ADC with computational automation analog signal analysis for real-time system response. The MCU also includes configurable logic units for reduced power consumption and improved serial communication, including UART, to support asynchronous systems, high speed independent I2C and SPI, and DMX/DALI/LIN protocols.
