Samsung Releases First 3nm Chip Exynos W1000 Released, Expected for Galaxy Watch 7 Watches
July 3 - Samsung today unveiled its first 3nm chip, the Exynos W1000, a wearable device chip made using Samsungs most advanced manufacturing process and expected to be used in the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra watches.
July 3 - Samsung today unveiled its first 3nm chip, the Exynos W1000, a wearable device chip made using Samsung's most advanced manufacturing process and expected to be used in the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra watches.
From the spec sheet, we know that the Exynos W1000 is powered by Samsung's 3nm GAA process and features 1 x A78 + 4 x A55 CPU cores with 1.6GHz on the big core and 1.5GHz on the small core.
Compared to the Exynos W930, the Exynos W1000 is claimed to offer a 3.4x single-core performance boost, a 3.7x multi-core boost, and a 2.7x app launch speed boost.
The chip is equipped with a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU and supports an AOD engine that can drive screens with resolutions up to 640 x 640 pixels. The chip comes in a FOPLP package, supports LPDDR5 memory and has 32GB of integrated eMMC storage.
The Exynos W1000 also features 2.5D Always On Display (AoD), Bluetooth LE audio support for further power savings, and remaining connectivity features including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS and NFC.
