The Microchip KSZ9131RNXU-VAO is an energy-efficient Gigabit Ethernet transceiver for sending and receiving data over standard CAT-5, CAT-5e, and CAT6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables.
Overview
The KSZ9131RNXU-VAO is a fully integrated three-speed (10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T) Ethernet physical layer transceiver for sending and receiving data over standard CAT-5, CAT-5e, and CAT6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables.
KSZ9131RNX provides simplified Gigabit media independent interface RGMII, KSZ9131MNX provides industry standard GMII/MII(Gigabit Media Independent Interface/Media Independent Interface) for connecting to GMII/MII MAC in Gigabit Ethernet processors and switches, Transfer data at 1000Mbps or 10/100Mbps.
The KSZ9131 uses on-chip termination resistors for four differential pairs and integrates an LDO controller to drive low-cost MOSFETs to power the 1.2V core, reducing board costs and simplifying board layout.

With the on-chip LDO controller, 3.3V single power supply is supported - only one external FET is needed to generate 1.2V for the core
Jumbo frames up to 16KB are supported
125MHz reference clock output
Energy detection power failure mode reduces power consumption when cables are not connected
Support LAN wake up (WOL), with a powerful custom packet detection function
Programmable LED output for links, activity, and speed
Baseline drift correction
Identify faulty copper cables with LinkMD® TDR cable diagnostics
Supports parametric NAND tree to detect faults between chip I/O and board
Loopback mode for diagnosis
With the automatic MDI/MDI-X divider, pair exchanges can be detected and corrected at all operating speeds
