Overview:

The Broadcom APDS-9500 Imaging gesture and proximity sensor provides image-based gesture recognition with an I2C bus interface in a single 18-pin package. The sensor recognizes nine gestures, including up, down, left, right, forward, back, clockwise, counterclockwise, and waving. The gesture information is easily accessible via the I2C bus. The sensor also has a built-in proximity detection function, which can sense the approach or departure of objects.
