I. Overview
NTAG215 was developed by NXP and is used as a standard NFC tag IC with NFC devices or NFC-compatible close-coupled devices for a wide range of mass market applications such as retail, gaming and consumer electronics. The NTAG215 is designed to comply fully with the NFC Forum NFC Forum Type 2 label and ISO/IEC14443 Type A specification.
Targeted applications include smart advertising for outdoor and print media, SoLoMo applications, product verification, NFC shelf labels, and mobile phone companion labels.
Targeted use cases include outdoor smart advertising, product authentication, cell phone companion labels, Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi pairing, electronic shelf labels, and business cards. The NTAG21x memory can also be segmented to deploy multiple applications simultaneously.
Due to the high input capacitance of the NTAG21x tag IC, the product is particularly suitable for applications requiring a small size without compromising performance. Small NFC tags can be more easily embedded in targets such as product labels or electronic devices.
