The ADUC832BSZ generates a high frequency clock signal of 16.78 MHz through a 32 kHz crystal oscillator and on-chip PLL, and generates the MCU core clock operating frequency through a programmable clock divider. The microcontroller kernel is 8052, compatible with the 8051 instruction set, and has 12 kernel clock cycles per machine cycle ‌.

The ADUC832BSZ has 62 kB of non-volatile Flash/EE program memory integrated on chip. In addition, the ADUC832BSZ includes additional analog capabilities, two 12-bit Dacs, a power monitor, and a band-gap voltage reference source. On-chip digital peripherals include 2 16-bit sigma-δ Dacs, 1 dual-channel output 16-bit PWM, 1 watchdog timer, time interval counter, 3 timers/counters, timer 3 for baud rate generation, and serial I/O ports (SPI, I2C®, and UART).
