Introduction

The LT4293HMS is a power Receiving Device (PD) interface controller compliant with the LTPoE++/IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standard. T2P outputs distinguish between LTP ++ and IEEE 802.3bt power supply devices (PSE) during mutual identification and negotiation of available power.


The LT4293HMS features an external low-RDS (ON) N-channel hot-swapable MOSFETs that support the LT4320/LT4321 ideal bridge for increased end-to-end power transfer efficiency and the elimination of expensive heat fins. The LT4293HMS also includes power normal state output, onboard characteristic resistors, undervoltage lock, and thermal protection. The starting surge current can be regulated by an external capacitor. With AUX pins, the LT4293HMS supports auxiliary power coverage down to 9V.


With changes to external components, the LT4293HMS can be configured to support all possible LTP ++, 802.3bt, 802.3at, and 802.3af power levels. Pin-compatibility with LT4275 and LT4294 series PD interface controllers enables easy migration between LTPoE++ PD and IEEE 802.3bt compliant PD.
