VSC8514XMK-14 and VSC8514XMK-11 Device Description:

The VSC8514 is a four-port Gigabit Ethernet (GE) PHY that operates at low power for energy-efficient broadband gateways, data centres and enterprise networks. The device supports TDM backhaul, wireless base stations, and other carrier applications with two Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) recovery clock outputs.The VSC8514 device features Microchip's innovative EcoEthernet™ IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet technology, which supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), ActiPHY™ automatic link power-down, and PerfectReach™ (a new technology that enables the use of a single Ethernet cable). PerfectReach™, an intelligent algorithm that adjusts power based on cable length.The VSC8514 device optimises power consumption at all link operating speeds. Adjustable LED brightness control further reduces end-user power consumption.

- Four integrated 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet copper transceivers (IEEE 802.3ab compliant) with VeriPHY™ cable diagnostics

- QSGMII SerDes MAC interface

- Patented line driver with low EMI voltage mode and integrated end-of-line termination resistor

- Supports HP Auto-MDIX and forced MDI/MDIX options

- Supports jumbo frames up to 16 kB with programmable synchronisation FIFOs

- Supports IEEE 802.3bf registers for standardised access to data latency information between MDI and xMII interfaces for specific PHYs

- EcoEthernet™ 2.0 Green Energy Efficiency through ActiPHY™, PerfectReach™ and IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet

- Fully optimised power consumption for all link speeds

- 1.0 V and 2.5 V supplies

- 3.3 V tolerance 2.5 V input (single-ended and bidirectional TTL/CMOS I/O)

- IEEE 802.3 compliant (10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T)

- QSGMII v1.3 and IEEE 1149.1 JTAG boundary scan

- Device supports operating temperatures from -40 °C ambient to 125 °C node or 0 °C ambient to 125 °C node

- Available in a 12 mm x 12 mm, 138-pin, multi-row plastic QFN package
