Introduction

The ADF4150HVBCPZ is a 4.4 GHz fractional N division or integer N division frequency synthesizer with an integrated high voltage charge pump. The frequency synthesizer can be used to drive an external wideband VCO directly, enabling higher tuning voltages without the need for an op-amp. The VCO frequency can be divided by 1/2/4/8 or 16, so users can generate RF output frequencies as low as 31.25 MHz. For applications that require isolation, the RF output stage can be muted. The mute function can be controlled either by pins or software.

All on-chip registers are controlled through a simple three-wire interface. The charge pump is powered from 6 V to 30 V, while the rest of the ADF4150HVBCPZ device is powered from 3.0 V to 3.6 V and can be turned off when not in use.
