The LENA-R8 multimode LTE CAT 1 module provides simple global LTE Cat 1 connectivity over 13 LTE and four 2G bands, reducing the logistical complexity of IoT devices that may be deployed in different regions requiring different combinations of bands.The LENA-R8 module is ideally suited for value-oriented IoT products targeting the tracking and telematics market or other applications requiring extensive global coverage. With broadband support and fallback to 2G networks, these modules provide premium roaming coverage and enable global tracking of a single product.  The 27.0mmx30.0mm modules in 100-pin LGA packages are pin-compatible with other u-blox form factors. This compatibility simplifies migration from legacy 2G or 3G technologies to LTECat 1.

The highly integrated LENA-R8 modules provide out-of-the-box support for MQTT Anywhere and MQTT FLEX services on the Thingstream platform, enabling seamless global roaming. These modules support a wide range of applications with GNSS requirements, from high-performance stand-alone solutions to the simple out-of-the-box experience offered through the LENA-R8001M10. This model includes integrated GNSS based on the u-blox M10 platform. the cellular modem and GNSS subsystems can be accessed through a dedicated interface, providing great flexibility of use. The two subsystems operate independently, helping to optimise usage patterns for highest available performance and efficient power consumption. The modules also support CellLocate, a network-based cellular positioning service.
