COSEL has announced the HFA3500TF power supply, a 3500W three-phase three-wire AC/DC shell thin power supply designed for industrial equipment such as semiconductor manufacturing, laser processing machines and robotics. With a wide input voltage range (180VAC to 528VAC), the HFA3500TF is suitable for global applications as well as three-phase triangular or three-phase star grids. The power supply uses the latest "Energy optimized" digitally controlled switching topology and wideband gap (WBG) semiconductors to achieve up to 94% efficiency at 400VAC input and 65VDC output. The HFA3500TF has two output voltages of 48VDC and 65VDC, which can be adjusted in the range of +15% to -50% through the fine tuning function. Compact and flat, it is only 41mm (1.61 inches) thick with an outer cover and has two variable speed cooling fans. For applications requiring higher power, the HFA3500TF can be connected in parallel to up to 10 units with an output power of 31.5kW.

The thin design of the HFA3500TF, which can be incorporated into the vertical space of a 1U (44.45mm) rack unit, offers significant advantages in space-constrained applications and can be more easily integrated into compact devices, saving valuable floor or rack space in industrial environments. To ensure excellent performance and reliability in such a flat package, the power supply features high performance and optimized design to eliminate hot spots and speed up cooling throughout the component section. To achieve this, the HFA3500TF combines an innovative mechanical layout with the latest power electronics technologies, such as the adoption of an optimized digitally controlled switching topology and a power stage with silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs and diodes, with an efficiency of up to 94% at 400VAC input voltage for the 65V output model.


Industrial equipment installed around the world is usually powered by a 200V to 400V grid, which requires the power supply to operate over a wide input voltage range. In addition, in order to reduce single-phase peak load and optimize network load balancing, system architects prefer three-phase power solutions, and COSEL's HFA3500TF can be used in three-phase three-wire triangle or three-phase three-wire star connected devices.


The HFA3500TF has an input voltage range of 180 to 528VAC and two different output voltages, which can be adjusted with a built-in potentiometer or fine-tuning function. The 48VDC/73A has an adjustment range of 24.00 to 55.20VDC, while the 65VDC/54A has an adjustment range of 32.50 to 74.75VDC. The output power is 3.5kW under rated operating conditions.


In addition to the main output, the HFA3500TF is equipped with a 12VDC/1A auxiliary output that can be used for remote on/off. The auxiliary output is isolated from the input, output, and functional grounding.


The HFA3500TF is equipped with a surge current limiting circuit, overcurrent and overvoltage protection, and thermal protection. The power supply has a wide range of applications, excellent robustness, and can work at ambient temperatures of -10 ~ +70℃. Two cooling fans with automatic speed regulation ensure power ventilation, but derating may occur depending on the final device assembly method and environmental conditions.


To achieve system integration and reduce conducted noise, the HFA3500TF is equipped with an input filter that complies with FCC Part15 Class A, VCCI Class A, CISPR11 Class A, CISPR32 Class A, EN55011-A and EN55032-A standards.


The HFA3500TF has an input-output insulation voltage of 4,243VAC, input-ground (FG) voltage of 2,829VAC, and output-ground (FG) voltage of 2,000VAC. The product complies with IEC62368-1 standard and has a maximum leakage current of 3mA at rated load and 480VAC/60Hz power supply.


The HFA3500TF is designed for integrated industrial applications at 1U height, with dimensions of 110×41×468mm[4.33×1.61×18.43 inches] (width × height × depth) and a maximum weight of 3kg.


The 48VDC output HFA3500TF-48 is suitable for a variety of applications, including measurement and analysis equipment, machine tools, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment where voltage dip immunity conditions need to be maintained, such as those specified in the SEMI F47 standard. The 65VDC output HFA3500TF-65 is suitable for powering Radio frequency power amplifiers (RFPA) and 60V lithium-ion battery chargers.


HFA3500TF complies with UL62368-1, EN62368-1, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1) safety standards as well as RoHS and Low voltage Directive requirements, and carries the CE and UKCA marks.
