Diodes Corporation releases the ZXCT18xQ series of high-precision current shunt monitors that meet automotive standards. This series of single-stage instrumentation amplifiers can accurately measure extremely small sensing voltages over a wide common-mode voltage range of up to 26V and operate over a supply range of 2.7V to 5.5V. Automotive applications include ambient lighting control, battery management, seat heating, and other body control systems.

The ZXCT180Q current monitor supports unidirectional current measurement, while the ZXCT181Q supports unidirectional or bidirectional current measurement. The ZXCT180Q is available in two pin configurations (version A and version B). The two versions of the OUT pins are located in different locations to help the PCB layout be flexible. The ZXCT181Q is used for bidirectional electrotiming (e.g. in battery management systems) and introduces a voltage to the REF pin to compensate for the output voltage. When sensing unidirectional current, the REF pin of the ZXCT181Q is connected to GND.

The ZXCT18xQ series is available in four fixed voltage gain options: 20V/V, 50V/V, 100V/V and 200V/V. This family of devices can measure the voltage at both ends of the shunt in the common mode voltage range from -0.3V to 26V, independent of the supply voltage with a maximum supply current of 370μA. At 20V/V, the series can support small signal bandwidths up to 400kHz, while supporting fast large signal conversion rates of 2V/μs. These features help the device detect rapid changes in sensing current and quickly convert the output for applications that require rapid response to changes in input current.

The ZXCT18xQ series complements Diodes' 26V power rail current monitoring portfolio with the previously launched ZXCT199Q and ZXCT21xQ series, which support high-precision, high-side and low-side current sensing down to 10mV.

All models of the ZXCT18xQ series operate in the temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.

ZXCT180Q and ZXCT181Q are packaged with SOT25 and SOT26 respectively. ZXCT180 and ZXCT181 are standard versions for industrial and commercial applications.
