Overview:

The AD7890BRZ-4 is an 8-channel, 12-bit data acquisition system with an input multiplexer, an on-chip sample-and-hold amplifier, a 12-bit high-speed ADC, a 2.5V reference voltage source, and a high-speed serial interface, powered by a 5 V single supply with an acceptable analog input range of 0 V to 4.096 V.

The device's multiplexers are independently accessible, so that if necessary, the user can insert an anti-aliasing filter or signal conditioning between the multiplexer and the ADC, that is, all eight channels can share an anti-aliasing filter. By connecting an external capacitor, the user can adjust the specified multiplexer setup time to include all external delays in the filter or signal conditioning circuit.

The AD7890 outputs data through a high-speed bidirectional serial interface port. The device has a built-in on-chip control register, and the user can control channel selection, switch start and power saving mode through the serial port. Versatile, high-speed logic ensures easy interface with serial ports on microcontrollers and digital signal processors.

In addition to traditional DC accuracy specifications such as linearity, full scale and offset errors, the dynamic performance parameters of the AD7890 are specified in detail, including harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratio.
