The LT8650SHV-CSL Synchronous Buck Silent Switcher 2 is a dual-channel buck regulator with a wide input voltage range from 3V to 42V, making it ideal for automotive, industrial and other buck applications. The LT8650S has a low static current of 6.2μA and a regulated voltage output, which is critical in automotive environments where normally on systems drain battery power even when the car is not running. Thanks to the Silent Switcher®2 architecture, EMI radiation can be minimized while delivering high efficiency at high switching frequencies. These include integrated bypass capacitors to optimize the high-frequency current loop, so the advertised EMI performance can be easily achieved by eliminating layout sensitivity.

The LT8650S can deliver up to 4A continuous current from two channels, as well as support loads of up to 6A depending on each channel. With fast, clean, low-overshoot switching edges, efficient operation is possible even at high switching frequencies, resulting in a smaller overall solution size. With peak current mode control with a minimum on-time of 40ns, high step-down ratios can be achieved at high switching frequencies.
