Product Introduction:

The ADIN1300 is a low-power, single-port, Gigabit Ethernet transceiver with low latency designed primarily for industrial Ethernet applications. This design integrates the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) physical layer device (PHY) core along with all associated common analog circuits, input and output clock buffers, management interface and subsystem registers, and MAC interface and control logic to manage reset and clock control and pin configuration.


The ADIN1300 comes in a compact 6 mm x 6 mm, 40-pin architecture chip-level (LFCSP) package. If a 3.3V MAC interface power supply is used, the device can be powered by at least 2 power supplies (0.9V and 3.3V). For maximum system-level design flexibility, a separate VDDIO power configuration Data input/output (MDIO) can be managed and the MAC interface power supply voltage can be operated at 1.8V, 2.5V or 3.3V, regardless of another circuit on the ADIN1300. When powered on, the ADIN1300 remains in the hardware reset state until each power supply has exceeded its minimum rise threshold. Power failure protection is provided by monitoring the power supply to detect if one or more power supply voltages are below the minimum drop threshold and keeping the device in the hardware reset state until the power is restored and meets the power reset (POR) circuit requirements.


The MII management interface (also known as the MDIO interface) provides a two-wire serial interface between the host processor or MAC (also known as the Management Station (STA)) and the ADIN1300 to access control and status information in the PHY kernel management register. The interface is compatible with Articles 22 and 45 of the IEEE 802.3 standard management framework.


The ADIN1300 supports 150 meters of cable at gigabit speeds and 180 meters of cable when operating at 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps.
