The R7F702302FABB-C microcontroller is the first product of Renesas' cross-domain MCU product series. As a new generation of automotive control devices, it is designed to meet the growing demand for integrating multiple applications onto a single chip. To achieve a unified electronic control unit (ECU) for the constantly evolving electrical and electronic architecture (E/E architecture). With 28-nanometer (nm) process technology, the 32-bit RH850/U2A MCU is realized based on the key functions of the RH850/Px series for chassis control and the RH850/Fx series for body control, thereby further enhancing performance.

The R7F702302FABB-C is equipped with up to four 400 MHz CPU cores featuring a dual-core lockstep structure. Each CPU core integrates hardware-based virtualization assistance functions, allowing multiple software systems that meet different ISO26262 functional safety levels to operate independently in high-performance mode without interference.
