FT4232HL is FTDI's 5th generation USB device IC. FT4232H is a USB2.0 High Speed (480 Megabits per second) to UART IC. It has the ability to be configured in a variety of industry standard serial port configurations.

The FT4232HL has four UARTs, two of which have the Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE) option, allowing the FT4232H to use two UART/Bit-Bang interfaces plus two Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engines to emulate JTAG, SPI, I2C, Bit-Bang or other synchronous serial modes.
