The PCF2131 is a CMOS real time clock (RTC) and calendar with an integrated temperature compensated crystal (Xtal) oscillator (TCXO) and a 32.768 kHz quartz crystal for extremely high precision and ultra low power applications.
PCF2131 features.
- Selectable I2C bus or SPI bus interface for full flexibility in selecting the relevant MCU/MPU
- Battery backup input and switching circuitry allowing the RTC to track time even when the mains power supply is disconnected
- Calendar function to track time from year to 1/100th of a second
- Up to 4 timestamp registers that can be associated with timestamp inputs to register tamper events
- Up to 2 interrupt outputs to enable/disable the system and reduce total current consumption
