The ExpressLane™ PEX8749-CA80BCG is a 48-lane, 18-port PCIe Gen 3 switching device developed using 40nm technology.

The PEX8749-CA80BCG provides multi-host PCI Express switching capabilities, enabling users to connect multiple hosts to their respective endpoints via a scalable, high-bandwidth, non-blocking interconnect for a wide variety of applications including servers, storage, communications and graphics platforms. In addition to the high port count, the device offers an on-chip DMA engine, two NT ports and clock isolation. With backward compatibility, when designing with PCIe Gen3 switches in hybrid (Gen1, Gen2, and Gen3) systems, designers can make their designs fully Gen3-enabled as they migrate to next-generation endpoints.The PEX8749-CA80BCG is ideally suited for fan-out, aggregation, and point-to-point traffic patterns.
