The ExpressLane™ PEX8718-AB80BIG is a 16-channel, 5-port PCIe Gen3 switching device developed using 40nm technology.The PEX8718 provides PCI Express switching functionality that enables users to connect hosts to endpoints via a scalable, high-bandwidth, non-blocking interconnect for a wide variety of applications, including servers, storage communications, and graphics platforms. In addition to channels and ports, the device provides an NT port and clock isolation. With backward compatibility, designers using PCIe Gen3 switches in mixed (Gen1, Gen2 and Gen3) systems can make their designs fully Gen3-enabled when migrating to next-generation endpoints. the PEX8718-AB80BIG is well suited for fan-out, aggregation and point-to-point traffic patterns. the PEX8718-AB80BIG also includes the PEX8718-AB80BIG, which is the first PCIe Gen3 switch in the market. AB80BIG also includes PLX's proprietary visionPAK debug software, which allows for an internal receive eye view after equalisation and access to the device's internal debug registers for faster time to market.
