The ACS720KLATR-35AB-T is a high accuracy Hall effect based current sensor IC with multiple programmable fault levels for industrial and consumer applications with a focus on motor control and power inverter stage applications.

One of the key benefits of the ACS720KLATR-35AB-T is that it offers high isolation and a reduced bill of materials through the proprietary IC SOIC16W package.The ACS720 operates from a single 5 V supply while maintaining a 0 to 3 V output voltage swing and has a stable zero current output of 1.5 V. This allows the ACS720 to operate from a 5 V supply while having outputs that are compatible with typical 3.3 V ADCs found on many MCUs. In addition, the ACS720's high PSRR rejects the noise often found on PCBs or in the power supply section of systems, maintaining high accuracy in noisy environments.

The device features a user-configurable dual fault function. Fast and slow fault outputs allow for short circuit and overcurrent fault detection. A user-created resistive divider from the ACS720 power supply is used to set the fault level. The fault outputs are open-drain, allowing the user to pull them up to a voltage compatible with the MCU. The open-drain output also allows simple logic OR for implementing multiple sensor fault outputs.

The ACS720KLATR-35AB-T also incorporates differential current sensing to reject external magnetic fields, greatly simplifying the board layout for three-phase motor applications.
