The BQ25601RTWR is a highly integrated 3A switch-mode battery charge management and system power path management device for single-cell Li-ion and Li-polymer batteries. Its low-impedance power path optimises switch-mode operation efficiency, reduces battery charging time and extends battery life during the discharge phase. The I 2C serial interface with charging and system settings makes this device a truly flexible solution.
The BQ25601RTWR provides fast charging capabilities and high input voltage support for smartphones, tablets and portable devices. Its input voltage and current regulation provides maximum charging power to the battery. It also integrates a bootstrap diode for high-side gate drive to simplify system design. The I 2C serial interface with charging and system setup makes this device a truly flexible solution.
The device supports multiple input sources including a standard USB host port, a USB charging port, and a USB-compatible high-voltage adapter. The device sets a default input current limit based on the built-in USB interface. To set the default input current limit, the device takes results from system detection circuitry such as the USB PHY device. The device is compliant with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 power specifications and features input current and voltage regulation. The device also has constant current limiting capability up to 1.2A and is capable of supplying 5.15V to the VBUS, which meets USB On-the-Go (OTG) operating power level specifications.
The device is available in a 24-pin 4mm × 4mm × 0.75mm thin WQFN package.
