The TPD1E10B09QDPYRQ1 device is a bi-directional electrostatic discharge (ESD) transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode in a small 0402 industry standard package. The TVS protection diode allows for easy mounting of the component in space-constrained applications and has a low RDYN and high IEC rating. The TPD1E10B09QDPYRQ1 is rated for ESD surge dissipation above the highest level specified in the IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 international standard, providing ±20kV contact discharge and ±20kV IEC air gap protection. ESD voltages can easily reach 5kV and in extreme conditions these voltages can rise significantly, causing damage to many ICs. For example, in low humidity environments, voltages can exceed 20kV.

The low dynamic resistance (0.5Ω) and low clamp voltage (13V at 1A IPP) ensure system level transient event protection, providing robust protection for designs exposed to ESD events. The device also features a 10pF IO capacitor, making it ideal for audio lines, push buttons, memory interfaces or GPIOs.
