AFSI-R74C4SB: 56-Gb/s 2nd Generation Quad-Channel PAM-4 Linear TIA (Transimpedance Amplifier) IC

The AFSI-R74C4SB ICs is a 4-channel linear TIA (Transimpedance Amplifier) IC designed for 28-GBaud (56 Gb/s) PAM4 (Pulse Amplitude Modulation) transceiver applications. These Rx ICs amplify four single-ended electrical signals received from the PiN array. An RSSI (Receive Signal Strength Indicator) output pad can be used to monitor received signal strength at the PIN detector. 

AFSI-R74C4SB Key Features:

• Four-channel linear TIA for 28 Gbaud/s, operable over 56 Gb/s with 28 Gsymbol/s.

• Input overload capability up to 5-dBm OMA, (assuming PIN responsivity 0.59 A/W).

• Power consumption: 0.14 W/Ch.

• Transimpedance adjustable from 180 to 4.5K.

• Less than 4% eyelet compression.

• Low input referred noise: 16 pA/√Hz.

• Channel control: activation, output amplitude, DC-cancellation.

• DC-cancellation cutoff and activation (for DC test).

• Receive signal strength indicator (RSSI) function available.

• Serial bus interface with maskable hardware interrupt.

• ADC readback: supply voltages, temperature, RxLIP.

• TWS communication ports with 400-KHz max speed.

• AFSI-R74C4SC offers 0–2dB RF equalization.
