The TMS320VC5502ZAV300 fixed-point DSP is based on the TMS320C55x DSP CPU core and runs at up to 300MHz. By enhancing parallel capabilities and reducing power consumption across the board, the TMS320C55x DSP architecture delivers high performance and low power consumption.

The TMS320C55x CPU offers two multiplication accumulation (MAC) units, each capable of 17-bit by 17-bit multiplication in a single cycle. A central 40-bit algorithm and logical unit (ALU) is supported by an additional 16-bit ALU. The use of ALU is controlled by the instruction set, enabling optimization of parallel activity and power consumption.
