It has a built-in ultra-low power 32-bit micro CPU with a main frequency of 166 MHz and can also be used for application processing. Boot directly from external flash memory when carrying applications and acting as the only application processor in the device. The built-in cache helps to improve system performance and reduce memory requirements.

The RTL8710 can be added to any microcontroller based design when taking on the task of WiFi adapter in charge of wireless Internet access, and the connection is simple and easy, just through the SPI /SDIO interface or I2C/UART interface. Powerful on-chip processing and storage capabilities make it possible to integrate sensors and other application-specific devices through the GPIO port, achieving minimal up-front development and minimal system resource consumption during operation.

The RTL8710 has a 166MHz CPU and a QFN-48 (6x6mm) package with 42K of available memory. With built-in 1MB flash, the RTL8710 is not only small in size, but also helps developers reduce development costs. The RTL8710 GPIO has a maximum of 21 pins, while the I2C has a maximum of 3, up to 2 PCM, and up to 4 PWM, and supports 2 high-speed UART and 1 low-speed UART. In terms of data throughput, in 802.11n network mode, the maximum data rate of RTL8710 is 150Mbps.
