The CY15B116QN-40BKXA is a low-power, 16 Mbit non-volatile memory using an advanced ferroelectric process. Ferroelectric random access memory, or F-RAM, is non-volatile and reads and writes like RAM. It provides 151 years of reliable data retention while eliminating the complexity, overhead, and system-level reliability issues associated with serial flash, EEPROM, and other non-volatile memories. Unlike serial Flash and EEPROM, the CY15X116QN performs writes at bus speed. There is no write delay. Data is written to the memory array immediately after each byte is successfully transferred to the device. No data polling is required to start the next bus cycle. In addition, the CY15X116QN offers high write endurance compared to other non-volatile memories, and is capable of supporting 1014 read/write cycles, which is 100 million write cycles more than an EEPROM.
