The ADM3054WBRWZ is a 5 kV rms signal-isolated Controller Area Network (CAN) physical layer transceiver that complies with ISO 11898.

The device uses ADI's iCoupler® technology to integrate a three-channel isolator and CAN transceiver in a single package. The logic side of the device is powered by a single 3.3 V or 5 V supply on VDD1 and the bus side is powered by a single 5 V supply on VDD2. A power loss condition at the bus side (VDD2) can be detected by the integrated VDD2SENSE signal.

The ADM3054WBRWZ creates an isolated interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical layer bus, which can operate at data rates up to 1 Mbps.

The device's bus pins (CANH and CANL) have integrated protection against shorting to power or ground in 24 V systems.

The device has current limiting and thermal shutdown features to prevent output shorts and bus shorts to ground or power pins. Rated over the industrial temperature range, it is available in a 16-pin, wide-body SOIC package.
