The ACS70331EESATR-2P5U3 is Allegro's first integrated high-sensitivity current sensor IC for <5 A current detection applications. It combines Giant Magneto Resistive (GMR) technology, which is 25 times more sensitive than traditional Hall effect sensors, to sense the magnetic field generated by a current through a low-resistance, integrated primary conductor.

The analogue output provides a low-noise, high-speed signal that is proportional to the current flowing through the primary conductor. The device response time is typically 535 ns. The ACS70331 offers four factory-programmed sensitivities and bias levels to optimise performance over the desired current measurement range.

The differential configuration of the GMR element over the integrated current conductor significantly suppresses stray magnetic fields, enabling stable operation even in noisy magnetic environments.

The ACS70331EESATR-2P5U3 is powered by a single 3.3 V supply and operates over the -40°C to 85°C temperature range in a space-saving low-profile, surface-mount QFN package.
