The S79FL01GSDSBHBC10 device is a flash non-volatile memory product that uses:

- MIRRORBIT™ technology - stores two data bits in each memory array transistor 

- Eclipse architecture - provides significant improvements in programming and erasure performance 

- 65nm process lithography 

The S79FL01GSDSBHBC10 device connects two four-bit I/O SPI devices with a single CS# to form an eight-bit I/O data path. This byte I/O interface is called Dual-Quad I/O.

The device connects to the host system via a serial peripheral interface (SPI). Traditional SPI single-bit serial inputs and outputs (IO1 and IO5) and four-bit (Quad I/O or QIO) serial commands are supported. This multiwidth interface is referred to as SPI Multi I/O or MIO. In addition, the S79FL01GS devices add support for the QIO double data rate (DDR) read command, which transfers addresses and reads data on both edges of the clock.
