The LT4239ADE Hot Swap Controller safely inserts the board into or removes it from a powered backplane. By using an external N-channel regulator, the board supply voltage and inrush current rise at a controlled rate. The dual 12V gate drive is enabled to support high current loads by providing a two-stage startup that first charges the load capacitor and then enables a low on-resistance path to the load. The power supply outputs provide protection against short circuit faults through fast acting electronic circuit breakers.
