The EFR32BG1P232F256IM32-C0 features an energy management unit (EMU) and a high-efficiency integrated voltage regulator that generates the internal supply voltage. Only one external supply voltage is required, from which all internal voltages are generated. An optional integrated DC-DC buck regulator further reduces current consumption. The DC-DC regulator requires an external inductor and an external capacitor, and AVDD and VREGVDD need to be 1.85 V or higher in order for the MCU to function properly under all conditions. However, the rest of the system, including the digital power supply and I/O, will operate at voltages as low as 1.62 V. This means that the device is fully compatible with 1.8 V components. When operating at a high enough supply voltage, the device can not only regulate its own voltage using DC-DC, but can also provide up to 200 mA of total current to other PCB components.
